The National Weather Service in Jackson KY has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
Harlan County in southeastern Kentucky...
southeastern Bell County in southeastern Kentucky...

* until 900 am EDT

* at 300 am EDT, Doppler radar indicated that heavy rain has ended,
but high water is likely ongoing on some of the area creeks with
flooding of low lying areas due to high water on the Cumberland
River. Runoff from as much as 2 to 4 inches that fell on Saturday
over portions of the area is leading to significant rises on small
streams that drain into the Cumberland River. Flooding of low
lying areas including some low water crossings, roads along some
small streams, and pasture and farmland along these creeks is
expected to continue overnight.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Harlan, Loyall, Evarts, Wallins Creek, Bobs Creek, Mary Alice,
Dizney, Chevrolet, Varilla, Louellen, Coldiron, Ponza, Black Snake,
Elcomb, Blanche, Cubage, Rella, White Star, shields and Black
Mountain.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

The National Weather Service in Jackson KY has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
central Bell County in southeastern Kentucky...
central Knox County in southeastern Kentucky...

* until 1000 am EDT Sunday

* at 100 am EDT, heavy rain has ended, but high water is reported on
some of the area creeks with flooding of low lying areas. Runoff
from as much as 3 to 4 inches that fell on Saturday over portions
of Bell and Knox counties near the communities of Artemus, Flat
Lick and Fourmile is leading to significant rises on small streams
that drain into the Cumberland River. Flooding of low lying areas
including some low water crossings, roads along some small
streams, and pasture and farmland along these creeks is expected
to continue overnight.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Barbourville, Pineville, East Pineville, Artemus, Wallsend, Swan
Lake, hubbs, clate, Ponza, field, King, Straight Creek, Blanche,
Bryants Store, Heidrick, Rella, Fourmile, Indian Creek, Clear Creek
Springs and Wasioto.
