... Significant weather advisory for Polk... north Fulton... Douglas...
Cobb... Haralson... DeKalb... northern Carroll... Gwinnett... Paulding and
South Fulton counties until 130 am EDT...

At 1247 am EDT... a line of strong thunderstorms extended from Matt
to Woodstock, Burnt Hickory ridge, Seney and Coosa, moving south at
40 mph.

Hazard... 40 to 50 mph wind, frequent cloud-to-ground lightning and
           heavy rain.

Impact... expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of
           light, unsecured objects. Heavy rain may cause temporary
           street flooding especially in poor drainage areas.

Some locations in the path of these storms include
Atlanta, Marietta, Douglasville, Lawrenceville, Decatur, Dallas,
Cedartown, Buchanan, Sandy Springs, Roswell, Johns Creek, Alpharetta,
Smyrna, Dunwoody, East Point, Milton, Kennesaw, Duluth, Acworth and
Sugar Hill.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

People outdoors should seek shelter immediately. If you can hear
thunder... you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Motorists
should slow down and be prepared for possible loss of control due to
hydroplaning.
