At 805 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain showers across
much of the western upstate of South Carolina, northeast Georgia and
parts of western North Carolina. Numerous clusters were moving
northeast at 40 mph.

Locations to be impacted include... Gastonia, Greenville downtown,
Hickory, Spartanburg, downtown Asheville, Statesville, Shelby,
Easley, Lenoir and Morganton.

Wind gusts up to 30 mph and very heavy rainfall, with new rainfall
amounts of 1 to 3 inches by late evening.


Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Torrential rainfall may flood areas with poor drainage, such as
ditches and underpasses. Avoid these areas and do not cross flooded
roads. Water levels of small streams may also rise rapidly. Seek
higher ground if threatened by flood waters. Do not drive across
flooded roads.
