Coastal Flood Advisory
Issued: 4:29 AM EDT Apr. 25, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Coastal flood advisory in effect from 8 am this morning to 2 PM EDT this
afternoon...

The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a coastal flood advisory,
which is in effect from 8 am this morning to 2 PM EDT this afternoon.

* Location: areas of the peninsula adjacent to the Bay and tidal rivers.

* Timing: within a few hours either side of high tide later this morning into
early afternoon.

* Coastal flood impacts: minor flooding will be possible for locations near the
Bay... York and James River... and tidal tributaries.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal flood advisory means that onshore winds... wave action and/or tides
will combine to create flooding of low areas along the shore... and near tidal
rivers and creeks. Be prepared for the possibility of Road closures and minor
flooding of properties. If travel is necessary... do not attempt to drive
through water of unknown depth.

All tide heights are relative to mean lower low water.
Time of the high total tides are approximate to the nearest hour.
Total tide combines astro tide and surge.
Flood category based on total tide.
