Coastal Flood Advisory
Issued: 5:20 AM EDT Jun. 24, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Coastal flood advisory remains in effect until 10 am EDT this
morning...

* locations... the shore of the tidal Potomac River and adjacent
tidal waters in Washington, D.C.

* Tidal departure... around one foot above normal.

* Timing... around high tide early this morning. At Washington
Channel, high tide is at 8:34 am.

* Impacts... shoreline inundation is expected along portions of
the seawall adjacent to Ohio drive and the Hains Point loop
Road. Minor shoreline inundation is possible elsewhere.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal flood advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.

Forecast tides are referenced to mean lower low water
(mllw) and mean higher high water (mhhw) unless
otherwise noted. Time of high total tide is
approximate to nearest hour. Total tide combines the
normal tide and departure from normal. Flood impact
is based on the total tide and waves where applicable.
