The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
northeastern Wyoming County in western New York...
southeastern Genesee County in western New York...

* until 715 PM EDT.

* At 414 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. One to two inches of rain have
already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Batavia, Le Roy, Attica, Pavilion, Stafford, Covington, Alexander
and East Bethany.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

... A line of strong thunderstorms will affect northeastern Wyoming...
Livingston... northeastern Allegany... southwestern Monroe... eastern
Genesee and southwestern Ontario counties...

At 438 PM EDT, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located
along a line extending from near Le Roy to Mount Morris to 8 miles
west of Dansville. Movement was east at 15 mph.

Winds in excess of 30 mph and pea size hail are possible with these
storms. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and
may cause localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through
flooded roadways.

Locations impacted include...
Geneseo, Dansville, Letchworth State Park, Henrietta, Le Roy, Avon,
Mount Morris, Honeoye Falls, Pavilion and Conesus.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 390 between exits 4 and 12.
Interstate 90 between exits 47 and 46.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional
information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
