The Connecticut department of energy and environmental protection
has issued an air quality action day for the following counties...

Fairfield and New Haven.

In effect from 11 am to 11 PM EDT Thursday.

An air quality action day means that ground level ozone within the
region may approach or exceed unhealthy standards.

The combination of hot temperatures and southwest surface winds
are conducive for high levels of ozone to form across parts of
Connecticut. Residents are urged to avoid strenuous outdoor
activities, especially sensitive groups such as the elderly and
persons with pre-existing respiratory problems such as asthma or
heart disease.
