Coastal Hazard Statement
Issued: 4:47 PM AST Sep. 20, 2019 – National Weather Service

... High rip current risk remains in effect through Saturday afternoon...

* location... northern beaches of Vieques and St. Croix.

* Timing... through Saturday afternoon.

* Impacts... strong currents that can carry even the strongest of
swimmers out to sea.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

There is a high risk of rip currents.

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
