...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 10 PM EDT THIS
EVENING...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of central, northwest, and western Virginia,
including the following areas, in central Virginia, Central
Virginia Blue Ridge and Nelson. In northwest Virginia, Northern
Virginia Blue Ridge. In western Virginia, Augusta and Rockingham.

* WHEN...From 2 PM this afternoon to 10 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Low-water crossings may be flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Showers and thunderstorms will develop and move across the
area this afternoon to evening. Thunderstorms will be capable
of producing very heavy rainfall, with amounts of 1 to 2
inches in 30 minutes possible. Widespread totals around 1
inch are forecast, with up to 2 to 4 inches of rain under the
strongest storms. This could lead to scattered instances of
flash flooding.
