...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 930 PM MDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Arroyo and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of east central New Mexico, including the
following counties, north central De Baca and northeastern
Guadalupe.

* WHEN...Until 930 PM MDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 635 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause arroyo and small stream
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Cuervo, Newkirk, Puerto De Luna and Santa Rosa Lake State
Park.
- This includes Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 282 and 307.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 715 PM MDT
FOR NORTHEASTERN GUADALUPE COUNTY...

At 632 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from
near Santa Rosa Lake State Park to 13 miles southeast of Newkirk,
moving south at 15 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Santa Rosa, Cuervo, Puerto De Luna, Newkirk and Santa Rosa Lake
State Park.

This includes Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 271 and 308.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from
windows. These storms are capable of producing damaging winds and
large hail.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Accumulations of small hail on roads can create very slick and
hazardous driving conditions.

At 602 PM MDT, trained weather spotters reported thunderstorms
producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.

SOURCE...Trained spotters reported.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Santa Rosa, Pastura, Pintada and Milagro.

This includes Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 226 and 281.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where water covers the roadway.
The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely.
