River Flood Warning
Issued: 2:48 PM Jun. 22, 2021 – National Weather Service
The National Weather Service in Mobile has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Perdido River Near Barrineau Park.
* From this morning to Thursday morning.
* At 8:00 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 10.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this
evening to a crest of 14.3 feet tomorrow morning. It will then
fall below flood stage early Thursday morning.
* Impact...At 13.0 feet, the river begins to leave its banks at the
parking lot of Adventures Perdido River. Begins to threaten
several permanently parked travel trailers.

The National Weather Service in Mobile has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Styx River Near Elsanor.
* From this morning to tomorrow morning.
* At 9:00 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 11.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late
this morning to a crest of 12.6 feet this evening. It will then
fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight.
* Impact...At 12.0 feet, residents downstream at Seminole Landing
should be alert to possible flooding.

Flash Flood Watch

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of southwest Alabama, including the following areas,
Baldwin Central, Baldwin Coastal, Baldwin Inland, Mobile Central,
Mobile Coastal and Mobile Inland. Portions of northwest Florida,
including the following areas, Escambia Coastal, Escambia Inland,
Okaloosa Coastal, Okaloosa Inland, Santa Rosa Coastal and Santa
Rosa Inland. Portions of southeast Mississippi, including the
following areas, George and Stone.

* Through this evening.

* Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop across southern
portions of southeast Mississippi, southwest Alabama, and much of
the western Florida panhandle through the day today. Showers and
thunderstorms will be highly efficient rainfall producers and
capable of producing torrential rainfall over already saturated
soils. Excessive runoff from very heavy rains could lead to flash
flooding in the Watch area through early this evening.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT THIS
EVENING...

* WHAT...Dangerous rip currents.

* WHERE...In Alabama, Baldwin Coastal and Mobile Coastal
Counties. In Florida, Santa Rosa Coastal, Okaloosa Coastal and
Escambia Coastal Counties.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away
from shore into deeper water.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
