The river has reached monitor stage. Personnel begin regular patrols along the levee. At 11.2 feet, Minor flood stage, 8,000 cfs. Vandegrift Road has begun to flood downstream of the gage. Stuart Mesa Road closures can be expected. At 13.3 feet, Moderate flood stage, 17,000 cfs. Vandegrift Road is flooded for several miles downstream of the gage site. Stuart Mesa Road is flooded near the bridge. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:15 AM PDT Tuesday the stage was 7.8 feet. - Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage this afternoon to 11.5 feet late this afternoon. ...An Airport Weather Warning is in effect for San Diego International Airport for sustained winds of 25 knots or greater and for wind gusts of 30 knots or greater through 11 PM tonight... A strong Pacific storm will bring sustained southwest winds between 25 and 30 knots at times, with wind gusts 30 to 40 knots. The strongest winds will be late this afternoon and evening when they will turn more westerly. However, strong gusty winds are possible at any time today. Winds will gradually weaken tonight.
