Locally strong to DAMAGING WINDS averaging 55 to 65 km/h with peak gusts of around 90 km/h are possible on elevated terrain between the Barrington Tops and inland of Kempsey.
DAMAGING WINDS averaging 65 km/h with peak gusts up to 100 km/h are likely over elevated Alpine areas in the south.
Winds are expected to ease below warning thresholds during early Saturday afternoon.
HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING is forecast for elevated parts of the Mid North Coast district and adjacent elevated areas of the Hunter, mostly between the Barrington Tops and inland of Wauchope. Six-hourly rainfall totals between 70 and 120 mm remain possible through to early evening, particularly on elevated terrain.
A separate severe thunderstorm warning may be issued during this afternoon for thunderstorms expected to develop along coastal and northern parts of the Mid North Coast.
