...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 AM EDT WEDNESDAY... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Virginia, including the following areas, Albemarle, Augusta, Central Virginia Blue Ridge, Eastern Highland, Greene, Madison, Nelson, Northern Virginia Blue Ridge, Page, Rappahannock, Rockingham, Shenandoah, Warren and Western Highland and eastern West Virginia, including the following areas, Eastern Grant, Eastern Pendleton, Hardy, Western Grant and Western Pendleton. * WHEN...Until 2 AM EDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A prolonged period of moderate to heavy rain showers with embedded thunderstorms is expected through this evening. Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are likely, with locally higher amounts possible along the eastern slopes of the Blue Ridge and Allegheny Mountains. ...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 1245 AM EDT WEDNESDAY... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of eastern West Virginia, including the following counties, Grant, Hampshire, Hardy, Mineral and Pendleton. * WHEN...Until 1245 AM EDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 602 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain and instances of flooding are occurring. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area and this will exacerbate flooding through tonight. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Moorefield... Petersburg... Franklin... Rough Run... Brandywine... Upper Tract... Burlington... Landes... Dorcas... Masonville... Milam... Brushy Run... Cabins... Brake... Welton... Seymourville...
