The National Weather Service in the San Francisco Bay area has
extended the

* Flood Warning for...
central Santa Clara County in northern California...

* until 1130 am PST Wednesday

* at 1116 PM PST, reporting gauges on Coyote creek continue to
indicate active flooding. This areal Flood Warning supplements the
active Flood Warning at the Coyote creek forecast location at
Edenvale. While flood waters are slowly receding, flooding is
expected to continue through at least late Wednesday morning.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
San Jose and Morgan Hill in the vicinity of Coyote creek.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Coyote creek near Edenvale
* until further notice
* at 07pm Tuesday the stage was 13.0 feet
* record flooding is occurring
* flood stage is 10.0 feet
* the river will continue to fall to a stage of 10 feet by 7 PM Wednesday.
* At 14.0 feet... major flooding possible along Coyote creek south of
I-880. Some secondary roads along Coyote creek will become flooded,
making travel difficult.
* At 12.0 feet... moderate flooding possible along portions of Coyote
creek south of I-880.
* At 10.0 feet... minor localized flooding likely.

All those affected by river conditions should remain alert for rapid
changes and for possible forecast revisions.
