High Surf Advisory
Issued: 8:20 PM PST Feb. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... High surf advisory now in effect until 8 am PST Friday...

* surf... surf of 4 to 7 feet with will continue across Los Angeles
and Ventura County beaches through Friday morning. The largest
surf will likely occur on west facing beaches such as Ventura
and el porto.

* Impacts... large waves and strong rip currents will increase
the risk of ocean drowning for swimmers and surfers. Large
breaking waves can cause injury... wash people off beaches and
rocks... and capsize small boats nearshore.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area... producing localized beach erosion and
dangerous swimming conditions.
