Winter Storm Warning
Issued: 2:47 PM MST Feb. 27, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 6 PM this evening
to 5 PM MST Tuesday...

* locations include... Durango, Bayfield, Ignacio, and Pagosa
Springs.

* Timing... scattered snow showers and a mix of rain and snow are
expected this afternoon, transitioning to heavy wet snow this
evening continuing through noon Tuesday.

* Snow accumulation... 6 to 12 inches.

* Winds... southwest 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* Visibility... less than one mile at times in moderate to heavy
snow.

* Impacts... the heavy snow will make many roads impassable and
may produce widespread power outages due to the weight of the
snow on tree limbs and power lines.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow are
expected or occurring. Strong winds and blowing snow are also
possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
