Flood Warning
Issued: 8:34 PM CST Jan. 21, 2017 – National Weather Service

The Flood Warning continues for the Guadalupe River near Bloomington.
* Until Tuesday afternoon, or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 8 PM Saturday, the stage was 22.4 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Forecast: the river will continue rising to near 22.5 feet overnight,
begin a slow fall for Sunday and Monday, dropping below flood and
caution stage Tuesday afternoon.
* At 24.0 feet, moderate lowland flooding occurs, with the river
reaching well into the flood plain. Any oil tank batteries, pump
jacks, and secondary roads near the river may be flooded.

... Wind Advisory now in effect until 5 PM CST this afternoon...

* timing... strongest winds occurring from mid morning through
mid afternoon.

* Winds... west and northwest sustained 20 to 35 mph with gusts
near 50 mph. Isolated gusts around 55 mph.

* Impacts... driving high profile vehicles may become difficult,
especially over area bridges and elevated roadways. Strong
winds may displace loose objects and could result in minor
property damage.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 30 mph or greater...
or wind gusts around 40 mph or greater are expected. Winds this
strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile
vehicles. Use extra caution.

Gale Warning

... Gale Warning remains in effect until 9 PM CST this evening...

* winds... increasing Saturday night into Sunday... west to
northwest 25 to 35 knots with gusts of 45 to 50 knots.

* Seas... increasing late Saturday night into Sunday... 5 to 8
feet nearshore and 10 to 14 feet offshore with occasional
heights up to 16 feet offshore. Waves on the Bay smooth
becoming very rough by early morning.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Gale Warning means winds of 34 to 47 knots are imminent or
occuring. Operating a vessel in gale conditions requires
experience and properly equipped vessels. It is highly
recommended that mariners without the proper experience seek safe
Harbor prior to the onset of gale conditions.





Fire Weather Warning
Issued: 2:29 AM CST Jan. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning now in effect from 6 am this morning to 5 PM
CST this afternoon for very strong west-northwest winds and
critically low relative humidity values for all of south Texas...

* timing... strong west to northwest wind and critically low
relative humidity values are expected to increase this morning.
The fire danger is expected to worsen through through Sunday
afternoon as humidities lower further.

* Wind... west and northwest sustained 20 to 35 mph with gusts 4o
to 50 mph. Isolated gusts around 55 mph possible.

* Humidity... minimum relative humidity values 15 to 25 percent
inland areas and 2o t0 35 percent coastal areas.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Residents are urged to exercise care with respect to all outdoor
activities that could inadvertently cause wildfires. Report
wildfires quickly to the nearest Fire Department or law
enforcement office.
