Coastal Hazard Statement
Issued: 4:30 AM AST Nov. 15, 2018 – National Weather Service

... High rip current risk remains in effect through this afternoon...

* location... north facing beaches of Puerto Rico and Culebra and
the eastern beaches of St. Croix.

* Timing... until at least this afternoon.

* Impacts... strong currents that can carry even the best
swimmers out to sea.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

There is a high risk of rip currents.

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
