Coastal Hazard Statement
Issued: 4:34 PM AST Mar. 24, 2019 – National Weather Service

... High rip current risk in effect from Monday morning through
late Monday night...

The National Weather Service in San Juan has issued a high rip
current risk, which is in effect from Monday morning through late
Monday night.

* Location... beaches along northwest and northeast PR and San Juan
and vicinity.

* Timing... from Monday morning through late Monday night.

* Impacts... strong currents that can carry out to sea even the
best of swimmers.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

There is a high risk of rip currents.

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
