Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 4:29 AM HST Jun. 26, 2019 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has extended the

* flood advisory for...
the island of Lanai in Maui County

* until 745 am HST.

* At 425 am HST, radar indicated slow-moving areas of moderate to
heavy rain over Lanai, with rainfall rates around one inch per
hour. Up to 4 inches of rain has fallen over parts of the island
since midnight.

* Locations in the advisory include the entire island of Lanai.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to
flooding.

Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due
to ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action.

Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on
foot. Turn around, don't drown.

This advisory may need to be extended beyond 745 am HST if heavy rain
persists.
