Special Weather Statement
Issued: Environment Canada
Special Weather Statement issued by Environment. 11:01 AM CST Wednesday 28 June 2017.
Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.

Isolated thunderstorms are developing in the vicinity of a weak low pressure system in Southwestern Saskatchewan. Some of these storms may be severe with nickel to toonie size hail, wind gusts to 90 km/h and locally heavy rainfall approaching 50 mm. The risk of severe thunderstorms will gradually ease in most areas later this evening.

###

Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes.

Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ec.storm.ec@canada.ca or tweet reports using #SKStorm.
