... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 7 PM Sunday to
7 am PST Monday...

* timing: snow will begin Sunday evening and persist into early
Monday morning.

* Snow accumulations: 2 to 6 inches, with up to 8 inches along the
Sierra crest.

* Winds: southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts 35 to 45 mph.

* Tahoe wave heights: 2 to 4 feet. Highest waves along northern
and Eastern Shores.

* Impacts: snow and gusty winds may produce travel slow Downs,
chain controls, and periods of low visibility in blowing
snow. Small boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be prone to
capsizing and should remain off lake waters until conditions
improve.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Even light snowfall causes major travel delays, especially during
periods of high traffic volume. Be sure to allow extra time to
reach your destination. Leave extra space between vehicles since
it takes longer to stop on slick roadways.

The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a lake Wind
Advisory for Lake Tahoe, which is in effect from 10 am to 7 PM
PST Sunday.

* Winds: southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts 35 to 45 mph.

* Wave heights: 2 to 4 feet. Highest waves along northern and
Eastern Shores.

* Small boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be prone to
capsizing and should remain off lake waters until conditions
improve.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Check lake conditions before heading out and be prepared for a
sudden increase in winds and wave heights. Consider postponing
boating activities on the lake until a day with less wind.
