Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 5:19 AM PST Jan. 19, 2017 – National Weather Service

... The Flood Advisory for rain and snowmelt for minor flooding in
poor drainage areas remains in effect until 215 am PST Friday for
Latah... Nez Perce... Shoshone... Lewis... Benewah... Kootenai... Adams...
Garfield... Whitman... Lincoln... Asotin and Spokane counties...

* periods of light rain will bring an additional tenth to quarter of
an inch of rain to the Idaho Panhandle this morning and this
afternoon. Little additional rain is expected today over the West
Plains... and Columbia Basin.

* Temperatures today will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s. The
combination of melting snow and light rain will create water on
streets and roads with poor drainage. Sewer drains or culverts
plugged with ice and snow will have the potential to cause traffic
hazards with water on roads.

* Other potential impacts include: rises on small streams and creeks
and a small potential for ice jams on creeks and rivers as well.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not drive into water of unknown depth. Water from melting snow is
very cold. If your vehicle stalls... exposure to cold water could
cause hypothermia quickly.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency.
