... Significant weather advisory for northeastern Wheeler County until
630 PM PDT...

At 528 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Service Creek, or 15 miles north of Mitchell, moving northeast at 30
mph.

Half inch hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with this
storm.

Issued: 2:50 PM PDT Jun. 26, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning remains in effect until 10 PM PDT this
evening for thunderstorms producing abundant lightning and gusty
outflow winds...

* affected areas... in Oregon... fire weather zones 640 and 644.

* Timing... thunderstorms have already developed in this area and
will continue through the evening hours.

* Lightning activity level... 4 which means abundant lightning
is expected.

* Precipitation... storms will initially bring little
precipitation but will gradually become wet with some storms
producing moderate downpours.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly
in The Grasses and shrubs. Outdoor burning is not
recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... .or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
