Issued: 4:35 PM PST Jan. 18, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 4 am PST
Thursday...

* snow accumulations... 6 to 12 inches near Crater Lake. 4 to 8
inches along highways 230 and 138 near Diamond Lake.

* Winds... south to southwest 20 to 30 mph causing some blowing
and drifting snow.

* Elevation... above 3500 feet.

* Timing... snow will be heaviest into late this evening... then
will gradually decrease later tonight.

* Locations include... Crater Lake... highways 138... 230 and 140.

* Impacts... snow will reduce visibility and make travel
difficult on area roadways. Higher mountain roads could become
impassable.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

* travel is strongly discouraged because of dangerous conditions.

* If you must travel... keep tire chains... a flashlight...
blankets... food... water... medications... and a fully
charged phone with you.

* The safest place during a winter storm is indoors.

* A Winter Storm Warning means that severe winter weather is
likely and poses a threat to life and property. Take
