... High surf warning remains in effect until 10 PM PST this
   evening...

* waves and surf... breakers 28 to 32 feet through this evening.

* Locations... all southern Oregon beaches.

* Impacts... wave runup on beaches will be much higher than
normal. Stay off the jetties. Bar crossings... jetties and the
surf zone will be especially dangerous due to strong currents
and breaking wave action. Use extra caution along and near the
coast during this time period and never turn your back to the
ocean.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A high surf warning indicates that dangerous... battering waves
will pound the shoreline. This will result in very dangerous
swimming conditions and deadly rip currents.

High Wind Warning
Issued: 2:41 AM PST Jan. 21, 2017 – National Weather Service

... High Wind Warning now in effect from 1 am to 7 PM PST Sunday...

* winds... south 40 to 60 mph with gusts to 80 mph.

* Timing... winds will increase late tonight... reaching peak speeds
just before sunrise. Gusty winds will then continue through
Sunday before diminishing in the late afternoon.

* Locations include... much of the southern Oregon coast between
Brookings and Cape Arago... including Gold Beach... Port
Orford... and Bandon. Strong winds are expected along exposed
portions of Highway 101.

* Impacts... strong winds may make travel difficult on area
roadways... especially for high profile vehicles. Structural
damage... tree damage... and power outages are all possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is
expected. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts of
58 mph or more can lead to property damage. Travel will be
impacted, especially for high profile vehicles.

   PST Sunday...

The National Weather Service in Medford has cancelled the Storm
Warning. A hazardous seas warning is now in effect until 10 PM PST
this evening. A Gale Warning is now in effect from 10 PM this
evening until 10 PM PST Sunday.

* Winds... southwest 20 to 3o kt today becoming south gales 30 to
40 kt this evening through Sunday evening.

* Seas... west swell dominated 25 feet at 18 seconds today...
subsiding tonight. However... short period wind waves will
combine with the remaining swell to build very dangerous seas
to 20 to 22 feet Saturday night into Sunday.

* Areas affected and timing... hazardous extremely high seas will
impact all areas through the weekend. Gale force winds will
affect all areas Saturday night through Sunday evening.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A hazardous seas warning means very steep and hazardous sea
conditions are imminent or occurring. Recreational boaters should
remain in port... or take shelter until waves subside. Commercial
vessels should prepare for rough seas and consider remaining in
port or taking shelter in port until hazardous seas subside.

A Gale Warning means winds of 34 to 47 knots along with very
steep and hazardous seas are imminent or occurring. Operating a
vessel in gale conditions requires experience and properly
equipped vessels. It is highly recommended that mariners without
the proper experience seek safe Harbor prior to the onset of gale
conditions.
