Saturday for the South Washington and north and central Oregon
coast...

* seas... seas 20 to 23 feet. Dominant period around 18 seconds.

* Impacts... avoid walking on jetties... rocks... coastal cliffs...
and along the Waters Edge. Waves may rise unexpectedly and
sweep you into the turbulent and frigid waters.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area... producing rip currents and localized beach
erosion.

... Hazardous seas warning now in effect until 7 PM PST Saturday...
... Storm Warning in effect from 7 PM Saturday to 1 PM PST
Sunday...

The National Weather Service in Medford has upgraded the storm
watch to a Storm Warning... which is in effect from 7 PM Saturday
to 1 PM PST Sunday. A Gale Warning has also been issued. This Gale
Warning is in effect from 7 PM Saturday to 10 PM PST Sunday.

* Winds... southwest 20 to 3o kt tonight through Saturday
increasing to storm force 35 to 50 kt with gusts to 65 kt
Saturday night into Sunday.

* Seas... west swell dominated 15 to 20 feet increasing to a peak
of 22 to 26 feet at 18 seconds on Saturday. Very high and very
steep wind waves will combine with the swell Saturday night into
Sunday bringing very dangerous seas of 18 to 22 feet.

* Areas affected and timing... hazardous extremely high seas will
impact all areas tonight through the weekend. Storm force winds
are most likely beyond 2 nm from the coast and near the CAPES
Saturday night into Sunday, but all areas could experience storm
force gusts.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Storm Warning means winds of 48 to 63 knots along with
extremely steep and dangerous seas are imminent or occurring.
Recreational boaters should remain in port... or take shelter
until winds and waves subside. Commercial vessels should prepare
for very strong winds and dangerous sea conditions and consider
remaining in port or taking shelter in port until winds and waves
subside.

A Gale Warning means winds of 34 to 47 knots along with very
steep and hazardous seas are imminent or occurring. Operating a
vessel in gale conditions requires experience and properly
equipped vessels. It is highly recommended that mariners without
the proper experience seek safe Harbor prior to the onset of gale
conditions.

A hazardous seas warning means very steep and hazardous sea
conditions are imminent or occurring. Recreational boaters should
remain in port... or take shelter until waves subside. Commercial
vessels should prepare for rough seas and consider remaining in
port or taking shelter in port until hazardous seas subside.
