Special Statement
Issued: 3:11 AM PST Feb. 24, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Low elevation snow possible this morning...

A low pressure system from the north will move offshore of the
Washington and Oregon coast today for cool weather and showers
across southwest Washington and northwest Oregon. Temperatures
near the valley floor are near freezing this morning and snow
is likely at the lowest elevations.

Most areas will have little to no snow accumulation. However,
spotty amounts anywhere from a dusting to up to 1 inch of snow are
possible. The best chances for accumulating snow will above 500
ft. Any accumulations will be short-lived and should melt within a
couple of hours. These showers are expected during the morning
commute and may disrupt travel. Please plan for possible travel
delays this morning, and be prepared for the possibility of light
snow on some of the roads.

... Low elevation snow possible Friday morning...

A cool and unstable air mass will remain over the region through
the weekend. Meanwhile, a low pressure system dropping down from
British Columbia will move south just off the Washington and
Oregon coast on Friday. This will bring increasing showers
starting early Friday morning. Showers will continue, briefly
heavy at times, through the remainder of the day. With overnight
lows forecasted to be in the lower to mid 30s, snow will likely
reach close to the lowest elevations during any showers Friday
morning. Most locations will see little to no accumulation.
However, spotty amounts anywhere from a dusting to up to 1 inch
are possible across the region through the morning hours. The best
chances for accumulating snow will above 500 ft. Any accumulations
will be short-lived and should melt within a couple of hours.
However, the timing of the snow showers will include the time of
the morning commute and there could be some impacts to travel
