The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for Kahoolawe... Kauai... Lanai... Maui...
Molokai... Niihau and Oahu.

* Through late this afternoon

* the combination of an unstable and moist atmosphere will result
in the potential for heavy showers and thunderstorms over the
smaller islands through late this afternoon.

* Heavy downpours could cause streams to quickly overflow there
banks... leading to life threatening flash flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is very dangerous.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
