The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued a
Wind Advisory, which is in effect from noon today to 3 am PDT
Monday.

* Timing... this afternoon and overnight.

* Winds... northwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph.

* Impacts... .gusty winds will make driving difficult, especially
for high profile vehicles.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

When driving, use extra caution. Be prepared for sudden gusty
cross winds.





Beach Hazard Statement
Issued: 4:34 AM PDT Apr. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Beach hazards statement remains in effect from 8 am PDT this
morning through Monday evening...

* hazards... surf building to 7 to 10 feet by this afternoon...
along with strong rip currents. The surf may build to 8 to 12
feet tonight into Monday and a high surf advisory may be
needed.


* Impacts... there is an increased risk of ocean drowning. Rip
currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Waves can
wash people off beaches and rocks... and capsize small boats
nearshore.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A beach hazards statement is issued when threats such as rip
currents... longshore currents... sneaker waves and other hazards
create life-threatening conditions in the surf zone. Swim near a
lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't
swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following
the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or
wave for help.
