... A Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect until 400 PM MDT
for southwestern San Miguel and northwestern Guadalupe counties...

At 330 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Anton Chico to near Dilia, moving east at 15 mph.

Hazard... 70 mph wind gusts and ping pong Ball size hail.

Source... radar indicated.

Impact... people and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
         damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect
         considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to
         Mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

Locations impacted include...
Dilia, Anton Chico, Los Montoyas and Tecolotito.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

These storms are producing large hail. Seek shelter now inside a
sturdy structure and stay away from windows.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Flash Flood Warning
Issued: 3:15 PM MDT May. 23, 2018 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
southwestern San Miguel County in northeastern New Mexico...
northwestern Guadalupe County in east central New Mexico...

* until 515 PM MDT.

* At 313 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain have
already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly in
Canon Blanco and Canada Segura.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Villanueva State Park and San Juan.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Arroyos, streams and normally dry rivers can become raging killer
currents in a matter of minutes. Water in arroyos can travel many
miles and take hours to reach your location from upstream rain areas.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where water covers the roadway.
The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely.

Areal Flood Advisory

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Arroyo and small stream flood advisory for...
southwestern San Miguel County in northeastern New Mexico...
northwestern Guadalupe County in east central New Mexico...

* until 445 PM MDT.

* At 248 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause Arroyo and small stream flooding in
the advisory area. Up to an inch and a half of rain have fallen.
Flooding is expected in Canon Blanco.

* Flooding will remain over mainly rural areas of southwestern San
Miguel and northwestern Guadalupe counties.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain.
Arroyos, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a
matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.
