Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 4:54 AM MST Jan. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 5 am MST Tuesday...

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow... which is in effect
until 5 am MST Tuesday.

* Snow accumulations... totaling 2 to 5 inches.

* Timing... snow will continue this morning... but may mix with rain
this afternoon. Precipitation will become all snow and increase
further in coverage and intensity as a cold front crosses this
evening. Snow should taper off early Tuesday morning.

* Winds... west 10 to 20 mph with gusts near 30 mph.

* Snow levels... temperatures will be cold enough for snow at all
locations this morning but the snow level may rise near 6500
feet this afternoon. Snow levels will lower quickly with the
passage of a cold front early this evening.

* Local impacts... roads may become snowpacked and icy... including
Highway 550. Areas of reduced visibilities in blowing snow will
add to the hazardous travel conditions.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means that
visibilities will be restricted due to a combination of falling
and blowing snow.
