... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 8 PM MST
Saturday...

* snow accumulations... one to four inches with locally greater
amounts of four to eight inches on higher west facing slopes.

* Timing... while periods of light to briefly moderate snow are
expected today... the more persistent and heavier snow will
begin by tonight and persist through Saturday. Snow will taper
off Saturday evening.

* Winds... west 20 to 30 mph with gusts to around 45 mph today.
Winds strengthening Saturday at 25 to 35 mph with gusts to
around 50 mph.

* Snow levels... temperatures will become cold enough for snow at
all locations.

* Local impacts... roads may become snowpacked and icy. Travel may
be impacted on highways such as Interstate 40 from the Arizona
border through the Grants area as well as Highway 550 from
Farmington through the Cuba area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means that
visibilities will be restricted due to a combination of falling
and blowing snow.
