Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 4:07 AM MDT Mar. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 3 PM this afternoon to
9 am MDT Friday...

The National Weather Service in Pueblo has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow, which is in effect
from 3 PM this afternoon to 9 am MDT Friday.

* Location... the eastern San Juan Mountains above 10000 feet, the
La Garita Mountains above 10000 feet, the Sawatch Range above
11000 feet and the Mosquito Range above 11000 feet.

* Cause and timing... a strong storm system will move across the
region from late this afternoon through Friday. It will be
capable of producing periods of heavy snow across the higher
elevations of the central and Southwest Mountains through mid-
morning Friday, with the heaviest snow falling this evening.

* Snow accumulation... 4 to 8 inches

* wind... southwest 15 to 30 mph today, switching to northwest at
20 to 40 mph overnight.

* Impact... hazardous conditions are expected due to strong winds,
blowing snow, poor visibilities and icy, snow covered roads.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means that
visibilities will be limited due to a combination of falling and
blowing snow. Use caution when traveling, especially in open
areas.
