... Winter Storm Warning in effect until 3 PM CST this afternoon...

The National Weather Service in Quad Cities has issued a Winter
Storm Warning for heavy snow... which is in effect until 3 PM CST
this afternoon. The Winter Weather Advisory is no longer in
effect.

* Timing... the heaviest snowfall is expected through 2 PM... with
little additional snow after 4 PM.

* Snow accumulations... 6 to 8 inches.

* Temperatures... in the lower 30s.

* Wind... south 5 to 10 mph.

* Impacts... accumulating wet snow will lead to hazardous travel
conditions. Roadways will be slick due to snow and visibilties
will be less than one quarter mile at times.


Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an
emergency. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and
water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
