Wind Advisory
Issued: 3:15 AM EST Jan. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Wind Advisory in effect from 10 am this morning to 6 PM EST
this evening...

The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a Wind
Advisory... which is in effect from 10 am this morning to 6 PM EST
this evening.

* Winds... west winds 20 to 25 mph with occasional gusts up to 40
mph.

* Impacts... loose or lightweight objects should be secured. Small
tree limbs may be brought down. Very hazardous boating
conditions will occur on the intracoastal and Atlantic waters.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 25 mph and/or gusts of 40 mph
are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult...
especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

Gale Warning, Small Craft Advisory
Issued: 2:48 PM EST Jan. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Gale Warning remains in effect until 7 PM EST this evening...
... Small Craft Advisory in effect from 7 PM this evening to 4 am
EST Tuesday...

The National Weather Service in Tampa Bay Ruskin has issued a
Small Craft Advisory, which is in effect from 7 PM this evening
to 4 am EST Tuesday.

* Winds... around 30 knots with gusts to 40 knots... decreasing to
around 20 knots.

* Waves/seas... 12 to 20 feet.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Gale Warning means winds of 34 to 47 knots are imminent or
occurring. Operating a vessel in gale conditions requires
experience and properly equipped vessels. It is highly
recommended that mariners without the proper experience seek safe
Harbor prior to the onset of gale conditions.

A Small Craft Advisory means that wind speeds of 21 to 33 knots
are expected to produce hazardous wave conditions to small craft.
Inexperienced mariners... especially those operating smaller
vessels should avoid navigating in these conditions.
