Issued: 2:25 PM EDT Jul. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a

* flood advisory for...
eastern Monongalia County in northern West Virginia...
northern Preston County in northeastern West Virginia...
southeastern Marion County in northern West Virginia...

* until 515 PM EDT.

* At 221 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated that 1 to 2 inches of rain
has fallen between Morgantown to just south of Fairmont since late
this morning. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Morgantown, Fairmont, Westover, Kingwood, Star City, Pleasant
Valley, Winfield, Barrackville, Monongah, Granville, Newburg and
Brookhaven.

The heaviest rainfall should exit the Fairmont to Masontown areas by
3 PM, with scattered mainly light showers expected for the rest of
the next several hours after that.

Please report flooding by calling 412-262-1988, posting to the NWS
Pittsburgh facebook Page, or using twitter @nwspittsburgh.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.
