Issued: 7:22 PM EST Jan. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 7 am Tuesday to
1 PM EST Wednesday...

* locations... upper Penobscot valley and interior downeast.

* Hazard types... sleet and freezing rain.

* Accumulations... sleet accumulation of 1 to 3 inches.

* Ice accumulations... one quarter to one half of an inch.

* Timing... precipitation will begin Tuesday morning and continue
through Wednesday morning.

* Impacts... expect very hazardous conditions. Snow... sleet and
a layer of ice will produce dangerous conditions. Ice may down
trees and cause branches to snap with numerous power outages
possible.

* Winds... northeast 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* Temperatures... in the lower 20s Tuesday morning rising to
around 30 in the afternoon.

* Visibilities... as low as one half mile at times tonight.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow...
sleet... and ice are expected. Strong winds are also possible.
This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
