Watches & Warnings

Flood Watch, Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: National Weather Service

Ram/icp/icp

255 PM AST Fri may 25 2018

The National Weather Service in San Juan has issued a

* urban and small stream flood advisory for...
Trujillo Alto municipality in Puerto Rico...
San Juan municipality in Puerto Rico...
Carolina municipality in Puerto Rico...
Guaynabo municipality in Puerto Rico...
Catano municipality in Puerto Rico...

* until 600 PM AST

* at 254 PM AST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain that will cause
urban and small stream flooding in the advisory area. Additional
showers are expected to develop over the area during the next few
hours.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

A flood advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
