Watches & Warnings

Excessive Heat Warning
Issued: 9:25 PM PDT Jun. 21, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Excessive heat warning remains in effect until 8 PM PDT
Friday...

* high temperatures... 109 to 115.

* Impacts... an excessive heat warning means that a prolonged
period of heat will create a dangerous situation in which heat
illnesses are possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Drink plenty of fluids... avoid outdoor activities in the middle
of the day... take advantage of air-conditioning... and check up on
relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be
left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. This is
especially true during warm weather when car interiors can reach
lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

Take extra precautions... when possible... reschedule strenuous
outdoor activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs
and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear light
weight and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty
of water.
