The National Weather Service in Taunton has issued a

* flood advisory for...
east central Worcester County in central Massachusetts...
central Middlesex County in northeastern Massachusetts...

* until 530 PM EDT

* at 334 PM EDT, reports have been gathered from Shrewsbury, Acton,
and Maynard of minor flooding issues, particularly Route 127. In
addition, weather stations in the area have observed around 1.25
inches of rainfall within an hour.

* Some locations that will experience minor flooding include...
Worcester, Framingham, Marlborough, Shrewsbury, Lexington,
Burlington, Acton, Hudson, Westborough, Concord, Sudbury,
Hopkinton, Northborough, Bedford, Wayland, Maynard, Southborough,
Littleton, Stow and Harvard.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A flood advisory is issued for minor flooding of roads or underpasses
that usually flood in heavy rain. Do not drive through flooded roads.

... Strong thunderstorm in northern Windham... northeastern Tolland...
southern Worcester... southwestern Middlesex... southeastern Hampden
and northwestern Providence counties...

At 452 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms near
Ashford, or 11 miles north of Mansfield, moving northeast at 20 mph.

Hail up to dime size and winds in excess of 30 mph will accompany
these storms.

Locations impacted include...
Worcester, Shrewsbury, Milford, Mansfield, Westborough, Grafton,
Holden, Webster, Southbridge, Auburn, Northbridge, Ellington,
Tolland, Northborough, Oxford, Clinton, Uxbridge, Millbury, Charlton
and Stafford.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not drive through flooded roads or underpasses. Avoid low lying
areas near small streams.

These storms may intensity and become capable of producing damage.
