... Winter Weather Advisory now in effect until 4 am PST
Thursday above 1500 feet...

* snow accumulations... 1 to 3 inches in portions of the Illinois
Valley and above 1500 feet in portions of the Rogue Valley. 3 to
6 inches over the passes on Interstate 5 between Grants Pass and Roseburg.
Local amounts up to 8 inches in rural areas above 3000 feet.

* Snow levels... near 2000 feet this morning, falling to 1500 feet
by this evening, and then to 750 feet overnight.

* Timing... snow showers will move across the area this morning.
Another round of showers is expected this afternoon and evening
with lower snow levels. Showers will taper off to flurries
tonight as snow levels fall further.

* Locations include... Interstate 5 at Sexton Summit, Smith Hill
pass, Stage Road Pass, and Canyon Creek Pass, Highway 227
between Tiller and trail, and Highway 62 above Lost Creek
Reservoir. Glendale, Cave Junction, Obrien, Ruch, and Ashland
will also be affected.

* Impacts... area roads above 2000 foot elevations, including
Interstate 5, will become snow and slush covered during moderate
to heavy snow showers. Travel will become difficult due to
slippery roadways and limited visibility, at times. Colder
conditions this evening will lead to greater potential of
accumulations on roadways down to about 1500 feet, as well as
the potential for black ice formation.

Flood Warning
Issued: 4:12 AM PST Feb. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

The Flood Warning continues for
the Coquille river at Coquille.
* At 3:30 am Wednesday the stage was 20.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river is forecast to rise above flood stage early
this morning. The river is forecast to crest around 21.5 feet this
afternoon and evening, then remain above flood stage through at
least tonight.
* Impact... at 21.0 feet... the Coquille river is at flood stage. Expect
flooding of farmland and low-lying areas throughout the flood plain
along the Coquille river.
* Flood history... this crest compares to a previous crest of 21.7 feet
on Mar 15 2016.

Advisory for hazardous seas... which is in effect from 4 am to
10 am PST Thursday.

* Seas... steep seas of around 8 feet will develop late tonight
and Thursday morning due to fresh north swell and wind seas.

* Areas affected... all areas.
