The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
west central Rio Arriba County in north central New Mexico...
north central Sandoval County in north central New Mexico...

* until 700 PM MDT.

* At 406 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Around 1 to 2.5 inches of rain
has already fallen on the Rio Arriba and Sandoval County line
around 7 miles northeast of the Apache nugget casino. Storms
continue to develop over this area with up to a half inch of
additional rainfall possible.

* Flash flooding is expected in drainages crossing Highway 550 from
9 miles southeast of the Apache nugget casino to the casino
itself, and also in drainages crossing Route 537 from the Apache
nugget casino to the Canada Larga crossing.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Both localized and distant heavy rainfall will create sudden and
dangerous flows in arroyos and over low water crossings.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where water covers the roadway.
The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely.

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Arroyo and small stream flood advisory for...
west central Rio Arriba County in north central New Mexico...
north central Sandoval County in north central New Mexico...

* until 445 PM MDT.

* At 240 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause Arroyo and small stream flooding in
the advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
the vicinity of lindridth. This includes arroyos feeding Canada
Larga, Cannon de Los Ojitos, and tapicito creek.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Both localized and distant heavy rainfall will create dangerous flows
in arroyos and over low water crossings. Do not attempt to drive
through these waters. Water in arroyos may travel many miles and take
hours to reach your location from upstream rain areas.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely.

* Arroyo and small stream flood advisory for...
south central Rio Arriba County in north central New Mexico...
north central Sandoval County in north central New Mexico...

* until 515 PM MDT.

* At 213 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms over the San Pedro Parks wilderness. These storms
were moving toward the northeast at speeds up to 10 mph. This will
cause Arroyo and small stream flooding in The Wilderness, and in
downstream creeks and drainages.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Cuba, Regina, Gallina, Coyote and La Jara.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Both localized and distant heavy rainfall will create dangerous flows
in arroyos and over low water crossings. Do not attempt to drive
through these waters. Water in arroyos may travel many miles and take
hours to reach your location from upstream rain areas.
