Watches & Warnings

High Surf Advisory
Issued: 3:33 PM HST May. 27, 2017 – National Weather Service

... High surf advisory remains in effect until 6 PM HST Sunday...

* surf... along south facing shores of all islands... 6 to 10 this
evening... then gradually lowering to 5 to 8 feet late tonight
and Sunday.

* Timing... through Sunday afternoon.

* Impacts... expect ocean water occasionally sweeping across
portions of beaches... particularly around each late afternoon
and early evening high tide. Very strong breaking waves and
rip currents are also likely. Breaking waves may occasionally
impact harbors... making navigating Harbor channels dangerous.

Precautionary/preparedness actions... large breaking surf...
significant shorebreak... and rip currents make entering the water
hazardous. Beachgoers... swimmers... and surfers should heed all
advice given by ocean safety officials and exercise caution
