The northwest avalanche center has issued an avalanche warning...

Timing...
in effect now through Wednesday March 29th through 6 PM.

Location...
the Olympics... the west slopes of the Washington Cascades
and Mt Hood.

Avalanche danger... the avalanche danger is expected to be high in
all 3 terrain bands in these areas.

Reason...
a frontal system Tuesday night and Wednesday will build new
layers at higher elevations and add rain loads at lower elevations.
Natural avalanches are considered very likely Tuesday night and
Wednesday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions... backcountry travel is not
recommended in areas with a high avalanche danger. Please visit
nwac.US for further information.

Additional information... this warning does not apply to ski areas
where avalanche mitigation measures are performed.
