Watches & Warnings

Wind Advisory
Issued: 10:02 PM PST Dec. 2, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Wind Advisory remains in effect until 2 PM PST Saturday...

* winds and timing... northeast winds 20 to 35 mph with gusts to
50 mph are expected through early Saturday afternoon... then
winds will slowly diminish. Isolated damaging gusts to 60 mph
are possible across the northwestern portion.

* Impacts... gusty winds will make driving difficult... especially
for drivers of high profile vehicles. Winds this strong can
cause downed trees and powerlines as well as power outages.
Winds will affect travel through the valley... especially on
the 118 and 210 freeways.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

When driving... use extra caution. Be prepared for sudden gusty
cross winds.

Fire Weather Warning
Issued: 3:25 PM PST Dec. 2, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning remains in effect until 6 PM PST Saturday for
wind and low relative humidity for the Ventura valleys and coasts
as well as the San Fernando Valley...

* winds... north to northeast winds 20 to 35 mph with gusts to 50
mph through Saturday afternoon. Isolated gusts to 60 mph in the
hills.

* Relative humidity... 6 to 12 percent... lowest on Saturday. Poor
overnight recoveries between 15 and 35 percent.

* Impacts... if fire ignition occurs... conditions may be
favorable for extreme fire behavior which would threaten life
and property. Use extra caution with potential ignition
sources.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures will
create extreme fire behavior. Please advise the appropriate
officials or fire crews in the field of this red flag warning.
