The National Weather Service in El Paso has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
northwestern Dona Ana County in south central New Mexico...

* until 815 PM MDT

* at 509 PM MDT... Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the eastern Sierra de las Uvas mountains. Up
to one inch of rain has already fallen. Flash flooding is
expected to begin shortly in numerous low water crossings that
flow across State Highway 187 between Radium Springs and Hatch.

* Flash flooding will remain over mainly rural areas of northwestern
Dona Ana County between Radium Springs and Hatch... to include
Hersey Arroyo... Bignell Arroyo... and Reed Arroyo.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around... don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
