Freezing Fog Advisory
Issued: 1:53 AM MST Jan. 21, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Freezing fog advisory in effect until noon MST today...

The National Weather Service in Missoula has issued a freezing
fog advisory... which is in effect until noon MST today.

* Impacts/timing: areas of dense freezing fog will continue to
fill the valleys across west central and northwest Montana
through Saturday morning. Motorists should be prepared to
encounter rapid reductions in visibility along with potentially
slick roadways. This may especially be the case on elevated
surfaces, such as bridges or pedestrian walkways.

* Visibility: widespread reductions of less than one quarter
mile are anticipated through Saturday morning.

* Locations impacted include: Flathead Lake, Flathead Valley,
Mission Valley, and Polson

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A freezing fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving, slow down, use
your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you. Also,
be alert for frost on bridge decks causing slippery roads.
