Winter Storm Warning
Issued: 3:47 PM MST Jan. 20, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning in effect until 8 PM MST Saturday...

The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a
Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow... which is in effect until
8 PM MST Saturday. The Winter Weather Advisory is no longer in
effect.

* Affected area... the southern mountains of Utah

* snow accumulations... 8 to 18 inches with locally greater
amounts.

* Timing... snow will increase in intensity and areal coverage
early this evening... then remain heavy at times through Saturday
morning. Snow will gradually taper off Saturday afternoon... then
end most areas by late Saturday evening.

* Winds... gusty southerly winds at 25 to 35 mph this evening will
switch to the west and decrease late tonight.

* Impacts... winter weather conditions will exist on all mountain
roads within the southern Utah mountains. Significant travel
impacts are anticipated along all routes across the southern
mountains during this storm cycle.
